Dr. Berg talks about hypoglycemic reactions when you have diabetes. If you think about, hypoglycemic reactions occur when you have too much insulin, not when you have not enough. Wouldn’t it make sense to take less and do things to reduce the insulin? Well this is not addressed; instead the reaction is “managed” and more carbohydrates are recommended to raise this low blood sugar, which keeps the cycle going on and on.
There are huge side effects of taking too much insulin:
-Retinal damage
-Heart damage
-Brain and nerve damage
-Kidney Damage

But the big point you need to understand is whats behind hypoglycemia – it is high insulin.

To reduce insulin and keep it from going to high and even keep from taking too much and driving the blood sugars too low?
LOWER YOUR DIETARY SUGARS
REDUCE THE FREQUENCY OF EATING

It is true that consuming protein will raise sugar and so would taking carbs, but this is ONLY a very temporary action.
